GLOUCESTERSHIRE ECHO
"Music lovers in Cheltenham have been exceptionally lucky recently...Bel Canto Opera has brought us Bizet's hilarious farce, Dr. Miracle, and Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti...both are absolutely fantastic. Human relationships are explored with a frothy lightness in this stylistic Bizet, in which the centrepiece is a marvellously funny quartet on the making of an omelette. Talk about opera for the masses, there should be crowds flocking to see and hear these gems"Gillian Lewis
"Directed by Tom Boyd , the show was witty and sophisticated... a delightfully high standard, but no wonder, with Gloucestershiress premier diva, Susan Black, as Veronica the Mayors wife. Maria Lancaster as the daughter was pert and strong and David Purcell as her father , the mayor of Padua, lent just the right weight. One hilarious scene, rather a send-up of grand opera, revolved around a real if curious omelette. In all, a sparkling production which left us in an ebullient mood."Ann Morrow
