written and produced by Tom Boyd

A RICH CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL BACKGROUND TO THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD
A 12-part cassette series, with tapescripts, designed for foreign students of English at an intermediate or advanced level, for individual self-study or for classroom use.

These cassettes present an attractive introduction to much of the finest literature written in the English language - prose, poetry and drama - performed in the authentic accents of each region by leading professional actors from all over the world, such as Alan Bates, Jeremy Irons, Sinead Cusack, Keith Michell and Gordon Jackson. They also contain unscripted interviews with prominent or typical native speakers discussing their country's problems and achievements; a survey of the history and social geography of each English-speaking area; a selection of the music and songs that contribute to the cultural heritage.
The 12 cassettes are available individually, or as a complete set. Click of the titles below for details of each cassette
