A World in a Grain of Sand

Poulton - a Cotswold village revealed

by Tom Boyd

This book traces the passage of the village of Poulton from an Iron Age hillfort c. 500 B.C. to a small rural community adjusting to a rapidly changing world at the end of the 20th century. The Parish of Poulton is both typical and unique; its history is the history of the Cotswolds, of England, and even of Europe, but Tom Boyd has scratched beneath the surface to discover and bring to life a cast of eccentric, amusing and often highly distinguished characters who have bequeathed a richness of village lore that belongs exclusively to Poulton.
