Press Release (2MB)

Cotswold Wireless is extending its network into Wiltshire.  Thanks to Wessex Water, who are providing their Braydon water tower as a transmitter site, rural communities in the area will at last have access to better broadband.

We realise that a broadband connection is now as important to life in the 21st century as mains water, gas and electricity. The Digital Britain report confirms this, and if the country is going to meet the 2012 deadline for a minimum connection standard providers like Cotswold Wireless will need support from communities, local government, and other enterprises, and Wessex Water have been exemplary in this respect.

Cotswold Wireless can now connect new subscribers in an area bounded by Malmesbury, Kemble, Cricklade and Wooton Bassett. All connections are subject to survey.

The service is primarily intended for those who cannot get a BT connection or where the connection falls short of the minimum 2Mbps set out in Digital Britain.

Please see our coverage map for the new area

The new area is a branch of a wireless network extending out from Swindon to Lechlade and Fairford in the east, to the river Severn in the west and to South Gloucestershire around Badminton and Chipping Sodbury.
